Purpose of a pyschoeducational assessment
The purpose of a psychoeducational assessment is to evaluate cognitive, academic, and/or social-emotional functioning using interviews, questionnaires, testing, and observations, identify areas of need, and make relevant recommendations to support educational planning. Results are explained and summarized in a comprehensive written report. The assessment process may have an emotional impact (e.g., nervousness related to testing) and may result in a diagnosis(es).
